About the Game
In 2034, a radioactive accident takes place in what appear to be the ruins of a Soviet nuclear power plant that had remained hidden since the Cold War.
NODE is a 2.5D puzzle-platformer in which you control a robot sent to explore the ruins in an attempt to prevent a nuclear disaster.
The game features two completely different control modes. “Timeline” mode, designed for players who enjoy challenge and precision, allows you to program the robot through a command line and execute its actions remotely. The result is a slower, more methodical style of gameplay focused on planning and observation.
“Platformer” mode offers more traditional real-time controls and shifts the focus toward story, exploration, and atmosphere.
Set in a world where Cold War history meets science fiction, NODE combines handcrafted environments, atmospheric sound design, and environmental storytelling to create a world filled with hidden details, optional paths, and branching narrative.
Features
Timeline Mode
Command NODE with precision in a unique take on puzzle-platforming. Plan each jump, switch, and dodge across a timeline, then execute the sequence remotely to navigate hazardous environments and complex checkpoints. Retry, refine, and adjust your strategy as you progress.
Every puzzle is designed as a methodical challenge focused on planning, timing, and observation.
Platformer Mode
In this game mode, you control the robot directly in real time. Rather than focusing on puzzle-solving and precision gameplay, the experience shifts toward story and exploration. It offers a more traditional way to play the game.
Environmental Storytelling
The game relies heavily on environmental storytelling, with much of its narrative uncovered through exploration. The Toska nuclear power plant features dozens of handcrafted environments, each designed to reveal fragments of its history and the events that took place there.
Combined with an atmospheric sound design, the world of NODE is intended to reward players who take the time to observe, explore, and piece things together for themselves.
RPG-Style Branching Dialogue
The game features extensive branching dialogue with NPCs and seven different endings determined by the player’s choices.
Optional Content and Exploration
NODE features as much optional content as main story content, rewarding players who enjoy digging deeper into its world and exploring beyond the most straightforward path.
Save System
The game includes both automatic and manual save options, allowing players to approach the experience at their own pace.
